‘Til Death Do Us Part by Jenna Hanchey

“Give me one more year,” Jason begs you, flowers and chocolates in hand. “It’ll be different.”

You hesitate, gripping the door handle but leaving it ajar. He did start therapy with the last year.

He steps into the opening. “I just need support to get started, and then I’ll take care of you, I promise.”

“Jason, if you waste this time again—”

“I won’t.” He smiles, closing the door behind him.

You remember what your father said. “True love is sacrifice,” you mumble, pressing the button on your Temporal Credit Meter to transfer another year of your life away.
