Loving Memory by Marisca Pichette

I believed that you would always be with me, after you died. You were more than a projection. You were reality.

But you’re not where you’re meant to be. You’re not following anymore. You’re leading.

I’m alone—and surrounded by you. Heavier than light, more solid than beams.

I’m drowning in your essence. Choked by your image, I fall out of reach, out of my mind.

But you follow. You catch me, drag me deeper into you.

You’re under me, around me, in me. I realize this pit belongs to you—it always did.

I can’t escape you. You’re me.
